Spread the love

Since 2002, it combines digital tools, active citizenship, and creativity to make culture accessible, alive, and sustainable.

🧭 AN ACCESSIBLE, INCLUSIVE, AND PARTICIPATORY CULTURE

ABCOnlus – Associazione bb.cc. Onlus – was founded in 2002 with a visionary idea: to enhance Italian cultural heritage in a new way, overcoming centralized approaches and giving voice back to territories, places, and people often forgotten. For ABC, culture is not an elitist experience but a shared right. The association’s activities are based on participation, accessibility, and collaboration: every project involves local organizations, citizens, public bodies, and cultural operators, creating connections between those living in a territory and its historical memory. ABC promotes events, workshops, cultural walks, and activities that focus on people and stories, awakening a sense of belonging and collective responsibility towards common goods.

🌍 TERRITORY, TECHNOLOGY, AND SLOW TOURISM

One of ABCOnlus’s distinctive elements is the intelligent use of digital tools to bring out widespread heritage. The portals beniculturalionline.it and CHO.earth are interactive maps of knowledge and identity, practical tools to explore, share, and discover. They are designed for curious travelers, researchers, local administrators, or active citizens: anyone can contribute by reporting a site, telling a story, or suggesting an itinerary. In this way, technology is not an end in itself but a tool to connect territories and people.

🧩 WORK GROUPS: A NETWORK OF ACTIVE PASSIONS

ABCOnlus is structured around thematic groups that work autonomously but in coordination. Each group is born from the meeting of professional skills and personal passions and is open to collaboration with scholars, volunteers, artisans, educators, and citizens. The Art Nouveau Group recovers and tells the traces of Italian Liberty style, while the Italian Art and Architecture of the Twenties Group deals with a heritage often controversial but historically important. The Natanti Group operates in the Venice Lagoon to safeguard maritime knowledge and historic boats. Then there is the Eco Garden Group, which transformed a marginal agricultural space into a rural socio-cultural center, and the Imprenditrici Venete (Venetian Women Entrepreneurs) group, which supports women active in cultural and creative sectors. Each group contributes to a mosaic of living and interconnected experiences.

🌱 A MODEL OF CULTURAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

ABCOnlus works not only on memory but also on the present and future. Its activities generate social, economic, and environmental impact. The association supports the local economy, creates training opportunities, values skills, and promotes inclusion. Its projects involve young people seeking new prospects, vulnerable families, schools, third sector organizations, farmers as custodians of the landscape, and digital operators. Every initiative is designed to generate collective value: cultural walks, craft workshops, rural events, educational paths, and active citizenship actions become concrete tools for regeneration and cohesion. Heritage, thus, is not only to be preserved but lived and grown together.
